We are very pleased to announce that we will be starting a new seminar series in an online format. The idea is to get short input (~30min) from leading experts in our field and discuss about it in a round of interested research groups. Topics will range from basics of olfaction to new technology in the sensor domain.
The first round will start with a talk of Dr. Alex Wiltschko, staff research scientist at Google Brain, on 10th June at 16:00 (CET). Dr. Wiltschko will speak on the topic “Learning to Smell: Using Deep Learning to Predict the Olfactory Properties of Molecules”. How multiple olfactory perceptions emerge from a molecule has long puzzled scientists. In contrast to the visual or auditory system, the association between olfactory stimulus and perception follows more complex rules. Promising solutions lie primarily in the development of advanced machine or deep learning methods, which Dr. Wiltschko is developing in his team.
If you are interested to join our online seminar(s), you are welcome to get in touch with us!
